The sun was shining and the water was sparkling last Saturday for the Port Bouvard Surf Life Saving Club’s ‘Open Day’. Located at Pyramids Beach, the surf club opened their doors for Nippers and Membership registration, and also for the official opening of the Florida Beach Function Room.

At the beginning of this year, Florida Beach Partnership generously sponsored PBSLSC to the tune of $50,000. This was a cash donation to be used by the club for whatever they need. In return, Florida Beach was honored with naming rights to their function room. Club Vice President, Murray Horbury thanked the land estate development and welcomed John Perry on behalf of Florida Beach to cut the ribbon, officially opening the room to the public. The Function Room is available for hire by contacting the club.

Port Bouvard Surf Life Saving Club is a great community organisation that promotes water safety, education and community involvement. There are a range of activities on offer including surf patrol, Nippers Junior Beach Program and Youth Group. Mandurah Board Riders also run their activities from the club house with surfing programs for boys and girls aged from 8 – 16 years. Port Bouvard Surf Life Saving Club currently has over 400 members and is growing annually.
